I unfortunately forgot what the original looked like exactly, but I seem to remember it looking like this, but with the hands down of course.
The only thing I can say that looks "bad," is the larger bags under his eyes. Or whatever they're called. But that simply makes him look a little more like a different character than seemingly "worse." For all I know they could have been there in the original and I just forgot.
I'd say it's better than the original. Certainly looks more maniacal.
